ISLAMABAD: India secured a six-wicket victory over Pakistan in a high-pressure Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday.
Pakistan set a target of 171 runs, bolstered by Sahibzada Farhan’s half-century (58 off 45) and late hitting from Faheem Ashraf and captain Salman Ali Agha.
Despite the promising start, Pakistan’s bowlers were unable to contain India’s aggressive chase.
India’s innings was dominated by a blazing 74 from Abishek Sharma, who struck five sixes and six fours at a strike rate of 189.74.
Sharma’s partnership of 105 runs with Shubman Gill, who scored 47, laid the foundation for the successful chase before Faheem Ashraf broke the partnership.
Off the field, tensions between the two sides flared as Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav refused to shake hands with Pakistan following the toss, adding to the already charged atmosphere.
