ISLAMABAD: Venezuela has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pakistan's Tank district in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 15 security personnel were martyred in a terrorist assault on a police checkpost two days ago.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Félix Plasencia González, in a post on social media platform X said, “Venezuela reaffirms its solidarity with Pakistan and expresses its condolences to the families of the victims of the attack.”
The Venezuelan foreign minister also prayed for peace, stability, and security to prevail in the region.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said that the terrorists, belonging to the Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khwarij, attacked a joint police and military check post in Tank on the night of July 23-24.
The attack resulted in the martyrdom of 15 police and military personnel, while 12 terrorists were also killed in retaliatory fire by the security forces.
FM Dar appreciates
Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, in a message on X on Sunday, thanked the foreign minister of Venezuela for his message of condolence over the loss of lives in the Tank attack.
Ishaq Dar said, "Most grateful, Excellency, for your thoughtful message of condolences and solidarity on the tragic loss of life in the dastardly terrorist attack in Pakistan. Venezuela’s gesture of support is a source of strength and solace, which we deeply appreciate."
