ISLAMABAD: Five people have been killed and many wounded in a shooting in occupied East Jerusalem, Al Jazeera reported on Monday, citing Israel’s Army Radio.
According to Al Jazeera, police say the two perpetrators, who were from an area in the occupied West Bank near occupied East Jerusalem, have been killed after carrying out a coordinated attack on a bus in Jerusalem. Witnesses reported that one of the gunmen was dressed as a ticket inspector, and five of the 20 initially injured have died, four men and a woman in her fifties.

Israel's emergency service, in a post on X stated: “Jerusalem attack: 5 dead (4 at the scene, 1 at hospital), 7 in serious condition with gunshot wounds, 2 moderate, 3 minor from glass.”
Illegal settlements
The attack took place near an illegal settlement of Ramot, just north of west Jerusalem, Al Jazeera reported.
These settlements are deemed illegal under international law and are buildings and structures that infringe on the rights of Palestinians and destroy territorial continuity for a future Palestinian state.
