ISLAMABAD: Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide will undertake an official visit to Pakistan on August 13-14 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Office said on Tuesday.

The visit will be the first by a Norwegian foreign minister to Pakistan in a decade.

During the visit, Dar and Eide will hold delegation-level talks covering the full spectrum of Pakistan-Norway relations.

“The two sides will discuss avenues for further expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and investment, climate change, renewable energy, education and people-to-people contacts,” the Foreign Office said.

The two foreign ministers will also exchange views on important regional and international developments, it added.

The visit comes amid sustained high-level engagement between Pakistan and Norway, including telephone conversations between the two foreign ministers in March and April 2026, as well as the visit of Norway’s State Secretary Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik to Islamabad in May 2026.

“The visit will provide an opportunity to further strengthen the longstanding and cordial relations between Pakistan and Norway and to explore new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation,” the Foreign Office said.
