ISLAMABAD: Pakistan defeated India by 191 runs to win the ACC Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup final on Sunday, successfully defending a total of 347 for 8 at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The victory marks Pakistan's first Under-19 World Cup title in 13 years.

After posting 347-8 in their 50 overs, Pakistan's pace attack dismantled India's chase, bowling them out for just 156 in 26.2 overs to claim a strong victory.

Pakistan's batting foundation
Pakistan's substantial total provided the platform for victory, with their batsmen capitalizing on favorable conditions to post a difficult target of 348 runs.

India's collapse
India's chase never gained momentum as wickets fell at regular intervals. Ali Raza led the bowling attack with 3 wickets, while Abdul Subhan and Mohammad Sayyam claimed 2 wickets each.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi showed brief resistance with 26 runs off 10 balls. He hit three 6s before falling to Ali Raza. Aaron George scored 16 runs at a loss of 9 balls, before Mohammad Sayyam dismissed him.

The middle order offered little resistance. Captain Ayush Mhatre managed only 2 runs before Ali Raza removed him. Vedant Trivedi, Vihaan Malhotra, and Abhigyan Kundu combined for just 23 runs as Pakistan's bowlers maintained pressure.

Khilan Patel provided late fireworks with 19 runs including two 6s, but the outcome was never in doubt. Deepesh Devendran's unbeaten 36 off 16 balls came too late to affect the result.

Pakistan bowlers' onslaught
Pakistan's pace attack exploited the conditions effectively. Ali Raza finished with figures of 6-0-38-3, while Abdul Subhan claimed 2-13 from 8 overs, including one maiden. Mohammad Sayyam and spinner Huzaifa Ahsan took 2 wickets each.

The bowling performance marked a stark contrast to India's tournament form, as Pakistan executed their plans with discipline and precision.

13-year wait ended
Since 1989, Pakistan has never won an outright U19 Asia Cup. The team claimed the 2004 and 2006 ICC U19 World Cups. In 2012, they shared the Asia Cup title with India after a tied final.
