ISLAMABAD: The U.S. State Department designated four "Iran-aligned militia groups (IAMGs)" into its list of proscribed groups on Wednesday said a press release.
According to the statement, “four Iran-aligned militia groups” are designated as foreign terrorist groups.
These includes the Harakat al-Nujaba, Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada, Harakat Ansar Allah al-Awfiya, and Kata’ib al-Imam Ali, as per the statement, terming them Specially Designated Global Terrorists.
The statement by the U.S State Department termed the decision supporting President Trump National Security Presidential Memorandum-2.
Prior to that on Monday, Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa signed a decree designating the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hamas, and Hezbollah as terrorist organizations .
