ISLAMABAD: The US Embassy in Pakistan illuminated the nation's iconic landmarks in red, white, and blue this week to celebrate America's 250th Independence Day.

According to a post by the US Embassy in Islamabad, the Pakistan National Monument, Globe Chowk, and other structures glowed in the colors of the American flag from July 1 through July 5 as part of the Freedom 250 global campaign marking the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

In Lahore, the US Consulate General arranged similar illuminations of the Alamgiri Gate and Picture Wall at Lahore Fort, the Quaid-e-Azam Library and the National Institute of Technology.

The illuminations were coordinated with Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Capital Development Authority.

"America's 250th anniversary is a moment of renewal," said Chargé d'Affaires Natalie Baker. "It is a chance to strengthen our institutions and build partnerships rooted in mutual respect and reciprocity."

Baker said the two nations are building "on sovereignty, strength, and shared prosperity, translating mutual respect and aligned interests into real results."

The US Mission to Pakistan said the government supported the celebration of America's 250th anniversary. The bilateral relationship was “expanding” through trade, “investment in critical minerals, economic development” and regional peace initiatives.
