ISLAMABAD Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday — while speaking to Saudi Arabian FM Prince Faisal bin Farhan — stressed that all concerned in the region must avoid any escalatory move and advised his counterpart to resolve issues through “dialogue and diplomacy for the sake of regional peace and stability.”

A call between the two foreign ministers of the two countries in a defense pact comes amid a resurgence of violence in Yemen, Pakistan’s foreign office said earlier in a statement on Wednesday.

According to a post on X, FM Dar discussed the latest situation in the region with his Saudi counterpart today, stressing the need for non-escalation from all concerned parties. He advised that issues should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy to maintain the regional peace and stability.

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed “complete solidarity” with Saudi Arabia and urged all parties to maintain regional peace through dialogue during a call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Office’s statement from Wednesday also reiterated its support for Yemen's unity and territorial integrity, calling for a de-escalation of tensions.

FO also expressed hope that Yemen’s people and regional powers would work together toward an “inclusive and enduring settlement of the issue, safeguarding regional stability.”
