ISLAMABAD: The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has confirmed the extradition of Ramanan Pathmanathan to the United States, describing him as one of the most prolific child predators and sextortionists ever encountered by the FBI Houston.

The extradition follows a five-year investigation into the sexual exploitation of minors across the country.

The FBI said Pathmanathan deliberately targeted and systematically sexually exploited juveniles across the United States, causing severe and lasting harm to dozens of children and their families.

According to the statement, his extradition from Canada was the result of sustained efforts by the FBI Houston’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force over the past five years.

The agency paid special tribute to Special Agent Kenya Merritt, who played a key role in pursuing the case until her death in October 2024.

Special Agent in Charge Douglas Williams said the case highlights the FBI’s continued commitment to protecting children and holding perpetrators of online exploitation accountable, regardless of where they operate.
