The crash occurred Wednesday near Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, during takeoff.&nbsp; The military said the helicopter went down because of a technical fault, and all personnel on board were martyred. Earlier in the day, a separate funeral service for two Christian soldiers martyred in the crash was held at Christ Church in Rawalpindi and attended by political and military leaders. Addressing the gathering, PM Sharif said the martyrs&#39; &quot;devotion to duty, professionalism, and commitment to safeguarding the motherland will remain a source of inspiration for future generations.&quot; He said the sacrifices made by Pakistan&#39;s armed forces for &quot;peace, security, and national sovereignty can never be forgotten,&quot; and reaffirmed the nation&#39;s support for the families of the martyrs. In a post on X, the ministry stated that the attack occurred in Hassan Khel, near Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Peshawar sits just 53 kilometers from the Afghan border, a region that has witnessed persistent violence from across the border. The terrorists belong to Fitna-ul-Khawarij (Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan). The group operates with backing from the Afghan Taliban, Afghanistan&#39;s interim government. The TTP has carried out several attacks across Pakistan in recent years. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi attended the funeral service for the officers at Federal Constabulary headquarters in Peshawar, where senior civil and military officials attended and paid tribute to them. &quot;We stand with the families of these officers. We will not abandon them,&quot; Naqvi said. Pakistan&#39;s government pledged to step up military operations against terrorist groups in the region. 6 Pakistani paramilitary officers martyred in terrorist attack

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan forces killed 14 Indian-sponsored terrorists who were planning to attack a police station in the Naal area of District Basima, Balochistan, in an intelligence-based operation, the military&#39;s media wing said. According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on June 8, intelligence reports were received regarding the presence of terrorists belonging to what it called an &ldquo;Indian proxy, Fitna al Hindustan,&rdquo; in the Naal area of District Basima, Balochistan. &ldquo;The terrorists were reportedly planning to attack a nearby police station and banks in the area,&rdquo; said the statement. The ISPR said that on receipt of the information, &ldquo;swift action was undertaken&rdquo; by security forces, and an intelligence-based operation was launched. After an intense exchange of fire, 14 Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed, while multiple terrorists were injured, according to the statement. The ISPR said that four vehicles being used by the terrorists and improvised explosive devices were also destroyed. It said that Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbass, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom. The statement further said that sanitization operations were being conducted to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored terrorists in the area. As part of its ongoing campaign against terrorist groups, last week, Pakistan security forces also killed six terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Panjgur District of Balochistan, the military&rsquo;s media wing said. The statement added that weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices and vehicles were also recovered from the killed terrorists. According to a statement issued by the military&rsquo;s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations, security forces targeted multiple terrorist locations in the Miran Shah area following intelligence reports. &ldquo;Following intense fierce exchanges of fire, in last seventy-two hours, twenty-seven khwarij belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij have been sent to hell,&rdquo; the statement said. The latest operations come amid Pakistan&rsquo;s broader counterterrorism campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam, as security forces continue operations against terrorist networks in border regions that Islamabad says have been used to facilitate attacks inside the country. The military said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the dead terrorists, who were allegedly involved in multiple terrorist activities and targeted attacks against civilians. According to ISPR, the operation also brought to justice those responsible for the killing of a prominent tribal leader. &ldquo;By neutralizing this group, the heinous act of target killing of prominent figure Shaheed Malik Saifullah Dawar in Miranshah has been avenged and perpetrators have been brought to justice,&rdquo; the statement said. Her teenage grandson fell critically ill last year from malaria, the disease that kills more than a quarter of a million people annually and is surging in southern Africa as the climate shifts. Before this spraying, the family&#39;s &quot;only defense&quot; against malaria-carrying mosquitoes was a rattling fan, said Mhlongo, a 63-year-old retiree. Her village of Calcutta is in Mpumalanga, one of three provinces in South Africa&#39;s malaria belt experiencing changing rain patterns and rising temperatures that favor mosquito breeding.
