 US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he believed the Iran war would end "immediately" after the country votes in midterm elections in November because Iran could not "hold out any longer." 


Separately, the Iran's Revolutionary Guards also gave hope for an end to the conflict, stating that the war with Washington could end if US stopped threatening Tehran and met Iran's conditions, including regarding its nuclear program.


Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s communications deputy Mehdi Tabatabaei said that Tehran remained committed to 14-point Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding but will "respond according to circumstances if the other side fails to honor it."


The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) spokesperson, Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, also said that the US lacked the ability to maintain its presence in the region, and that Iran exercised effective control and authority over the Strait of Hormuz by relying on its geographical, operational, and military capabilities.


Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham defended his government's ban on trade with illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank after Israel retaliated against London-led Western sanctions over settler violence. Pakistan, including seven other Muslim countries, welcomed the British government's decision to ban imports from illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian Territory.


In a post on X, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei, said that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's "lies cannot replace facts," adding that Ansarallah, also known as the Houthis, were an independent Yemeni actor that made their own decisions 


"It takes orders from no one and acts as nobody’s proxy," Baqaei said refuting Rubio's claims of some "Iranian hand" behing the attacks against Saudi Arabia.
