ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar left London for Istanbul on Sunday after completing an official visit to the United Kingdom, according to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In a post on X, the Foreign Office stated that Dar met senior British officials and the heads of two international organizations during his visit.
He also held talks with British lawmakers of Pakistani origin and members of the Pakistani community.
In London, Dar met British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, Minister of State for Pakistan Stephen Doughty and National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell.
The foreign minister met Pakistan-origin lawmakers from both houses of the British Parliament and members of the Pakistani community in the United Kingdom, according to the Foreign Office.
The visit to the UK took place from August 24 to 28.
Türkiye Victory Day
Dar’s visit to Türkiye comes as the country marks Victory Day on Sunday.
In a post on X, Dar congratulated Türkiye’s leadership, government and people on the 104th anniversary of the occasion.
"We join our Turkish brothers and sisters in celebrating this historic victory and honor the memory of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and all the heroes and martyrs of Türkiye’s War of Independence, and salute the enduring spirit of the Turkish nation," he wrote.
Pakistan and Türkiye are "bound by an exceptional bond of brotherhood, founded on mutual trust and deep-rooted affection between our peoples. Our bilateral relationship has continued to evolve into a comprehensive and multifaceted partnership," he said.
