ISLAMABAD: Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani arrived in Islamabad on a two-day official visit, marking an important step towards further enhancing Pakistan-Syria relations.
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shaibani arrived in Pakistan at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
The Syrian FM was received upon arrival by ministry’s additional secretary for the Middle East region, FO said in a post on X.
The ministry said that Shaibani would be accompanied by a high-level official delegation and the two sides would hold in-depth discussions across the entire spectrum of bilateral relations.
It added that the two countries woiuld also review avenues for further enhancing bilateral cooperation, and exchange views on regional and international developments.
“The visit marks an important step towards further enhancing Pakistan-Syria relations and advancing cooperation between the two countries,” the foreign office said.
