ISLAMABAD: Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand will undertake her first official visit to Pakistan on July 20 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Office said on Sunday.
According to the Foreign Office, the visit will mark Anand's first trip to Pakistan since assuming office and is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the visit, Dar and Anand will hold bilateral talks covering the full spectrum of Pakistan-Canada relations, with discussions focusing on enhancing cooperation in trade and investment, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
The two foreign ministers will also exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, the Foreign Office said.
In addition to official talks, Anand is scheduled to call on Pakistan's leadership during her stay.
The Foreign Office said Pakistan and Canada enjoy cordial bilateral relations anchored in close people-to-people ties, particularly through the vibrant Pakistani diaspora in Canada.
It added that the visit underscores the shared commitment of both countries to further expand cooperation across areas of mutual interest.
