ISLAMABAD: Croatia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Dr Gordan Grlić Radman will undertake an official visit to Pakistan today, Thursday, at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Pakistan's Foreign Office said on Wednesday.

According to the Foreign Office, the visit will mark the first-ever official visit by a Croatian foreign minister to Pakistan, reflecting the two countries' efforts to expand bilateral engagement.

Pakistan and Croatia established diplomatic relations in 1994 and have maintained cordial ties, with recent official engagements focused on broadening cooperation in trade, investment, defense, energy, education, maritime affairs, information technology and people-to-people exchanges. While political relations have remained friendly, both governments have increasingly emphasized expanding economic collaboration and institutional dialogue to unlock the partnership's untapped potential.

During the visit, Dar and Dr Grlić Radman will hold talks covering the entire spectrum of bilateral relations.

The discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, visa facilitation, education, defense, information technology and maritime cooperation, the Foreign Office said.

The two ministers will also exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, according to the statement.

Dr. Grlić Radman is also scheduled to call on Pakistan's leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the chairman Senate.

The Foreign Office said the high-level visit would help “boost bilateral relations” and strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual benefit.

The visit also comes as Pakistan intensifies efforts to attract foreign investment as part of its broader economic reform agenda.

The government has prioritized investment-led growth by promoting opportunities across key sectors, streamlining investment facilitation and strengthening economic partnerships with countries in Europe, the Gulf, Central Asia and beyond, viewing foreign direct investment as a key driver of sustainable growth, exports, employment and long-term economic stability.
