Pakistani minister says will deliver ‘special letter’ from CDF Munir, PM’s message to supreme leader

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said on Sunday that he is in Tehran to “deliver a special letter” from Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.
Speaking to the media in Tehran, Naqvi further said he will also deliver a “message from the prime minister [Shehbaz Sharif] regarding the current situation”.
Naqvi arrived in Tehran late on Saturday for consultations amid rising tensions in the Middle East after US forces struck Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island, said a statement from Central Command.
“CENTCOM forces shot down four Iranian one-way attack drones that were launched toward the Strait of Hormuz,” the statement added, “US forces subsequently struck Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island to defend against further attacks.”
Israeli drone strike kills father and son in Gaza City

Two people, including a father and his son, were killed, and several others wounded when a drone-fired missile struck Salah al-Din Street in the Zeitoun neighborhood on the eastern side of Gaza City, Al-Jazeera reported on Sunday.
The duo was rushed to al-Shifa Hospital, but succumbed to fatal injuries.
Al-Jazeera said the area borders the so-called “Yellow Line,” where the Israeli military has stepped up operations that have progressively pushed residents into smaller areas of Gaza.
The strike came hours after a separate drone attack on a displacement site near a UN school compound in central Gaza City.
A tent near a wedding was hit; at least eight people were killed and 15 wounded, the news outlet reported.
Qatar condemns Israeli attack on Lebanese army

Qatar's foreign office has condemned Israel’s attack on a Lebanese army patrol that killed two officers and a soldier, in an official statement posted on X.
According to the statement, the foreign office considered the attack a “dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of the sovereignty” of Lebanon.
The statement reiterated Qatar's support towards Lebanon's unity and sovereignty, calling on the international community to compel “the Israeli occupation authorities to cease their repeated attacks on Lebanon” and to respect international laws and conventions.
Israeli army announces two soldiers killed in Lebanon

The Israeli army announced on Saturday the deaths of two soldiers who had been fighting in southern Lebanon, where Israel is pursuing a campaign against the Iran-backed movement Hezbollah.
Israel has lost 29 soldiers since the start of the latest war in Lebanon, as well as one civilian contractor, according to official figures.
Saudi Arabia condemns Israel’s aggression against Lebanon

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry has expressed its “condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of the continued Israeli aggression” against Lebanon.
In a statement posted on X, the Kingdom affirmed its "complete rejection" of the targeting of Lebanon’s "army and its sovereignty," and sent condolences to the families of the Lebanese army personnel who were killed “while performing their national duty.”
Pakistan minister consults PM Sharif on upcoming visit to Tehran

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore and consulted on the interior minister’s upcoming visit to Tehran.
The premier guided the visit, the interior ministry said in a post on X.
The interior minister also briefed PM Sharif about his various important meetings on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Conference.
