ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Indian men’s volleyball team to participate in the CAVA Men’s Nations League 2026, paving the way for the regional tournament to proceed with the participation of all qualified teams.

The approval was issued after consultations with relevant authorities, allowing the Indian contingent to travel to Pakistan for the championship.

The event is scheduled to be held in Islamabad from July 29 to August 4 under the banner of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA).

According to officials, the decision was made in line with Pakistan’s commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities as the host nation and facilitating international sporting events.

The move also reflects the country's support for promoting sports diplomacy and ensuring the smooth conduct of regional competitions.

The Pakistan Volleyball Federation welcomed the development, saying all participating teams would be provided the necessary support and security arrangements during the tournament.

Organizers expect the championship to feature leading volleyball teams from across Central Asia, making it one of the biggest events on the regional volleyball calendar.

India's participation had been subject to government clearance due to the prevailing bilateral situation between the two countries.

However, with the NOC now approved, preparations for the event are expected to continue without disruption.

The CAVA Men’s Nations League aims to promote volleyball across the region by providing teams with high-level international competition and strengthening sporting ties among member nations.

Pakistan is expected to use the tournament as an opportunity to showcase its ability to successfully host international sporting events while encouraging greater regional engagement through sports.
