ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed for the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek on a three-day visit to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and hold talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Zhaparov.
In an official announcement by the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Sharif will address the SCO summit and present Pakistan's position on a range of regional and global issues.
He will also attend the SCO Plus Summit.
The prime minister will participate in the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games as a special guest.
During the visit, PM Sharif will hold bilateral meetings with leaders of countries participating in the SCO summit, with talks expected to cover bilateral relations, trade and investment, regional cooperation and other matters of mutual interest.
The prime minister will also meet Kyrgyz President Sadar Zhaparov for discussions on relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The two sides are set to discuss trade and investment, energy, regional connectivity, education, tourism and efforts to promote people-to-people contacts.
Federal Ministers Jam Kamal Khan, Aleem Khan and Attaullah Tarar are accompanying the prime minister.
