ISLAMABAD: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari will depart on a four-day official visit to Kyrgyzstan on Monday, according to a statement released by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"At the invitation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Mr. Sadyr Zhaparov, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, will undertake an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic from 6–9 July 2026, leading a high-level delegation," the statement said.
First in 21 years
"This is the first visit by a president of Pakistan to the Kyrgyz Republic in 21 years, marking a historic milestone in the bilateral relationship," the statement added.
The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov, visited Pakistan in December 2025.
President Zardari's planned visit "reflects the sustained upward trajectory of high-level engagement between the two brotherly countries."
During the visit, Pakistan president "will hold a one-on-one meeting and delegation-level talks with President Sadyr Zhaparov."
"The two leaders will review the entire spectrum of Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations and exchange views on regional and international developments of mutual interest."
"Discussions are expected to focus on deepening cooperation across trade and investment, energy, mining, agriculture, textiles, the halal industry, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, the digital economy, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges," the Foreign Office (FO) statement said.
Meanwhile, a post shared on President of Pakistan's X account on Monday, said, "Today, President Zardari is undertaking the first visit by a President of Pakistan to the Kyrgyz Republic in 21 years, opening a new chapter in the enduring friendship between the two countries."
