ISLAMABAD: Pakistan security forces killed three more terrorists as law enforcement agencies continued Operation Shaban against Fitna al-Khwarij in Balochistan, bringing the total number of terrorists killed to 126 since July 5.
The term "khwarij," rooted in early Islamic history, is used by authorities to describe the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and allied terrorist networks, portraying them as outcasts who reject legitimate authority and deliberately target civilians and state institutions.
According to security sources, forces were conducting operations in the area, targeting terrorists through both air and ground operations.
The forces added that due to effective operations, terrorists were facing heavy losses, confirming that three more terrorists were killed.
Security forces also successfully targeted terrorist hideouts, the sources said.
The number of terrorists killed in Operation Shaban has risen to 88, security sources said.
Since July 5, a total of 126 terrorists have been killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations, according to security sources.
