ISLAMABAD: At least five terrorists were killed while five soldiers embraced martyrdom on Monday after an improvised explosive device exploded near the security forces’ vehicle in the area of Kech District’s Sher Bandi in the Balochistan province.

In May, considering the involvement of some organizations and groups in terrorist activities in Balochistan, the government decided that all terrorist groups and organizations operating there would be referred to as "Fitna al Hindustan.”

Last week, at least 35 terrorists were killed in two separate engagements in KP. Whereas, in a separate incident, security forces killed 19 terrorists in three separate clashes in the province.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) today, “Five brave sons of soil paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat (martyrdom).”

The deceased soldiers included 25-year-old Captain Waqar Ahmed, 35-year-old Naik Asmat Ullah, 29-year-old Lance Naik Junaid Ahmed, 29-year-old Lance Naik Khan Muhammad, and 29-year-old Sepoy Muhammad Zahoor.

During the follow-up sanitization operation, five terrorists of “Indian proxy, Fitna Al Hindustan were sent to hell,” the military’s media affairs wing said.

“Sanitization operation in the surroundings continues to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorists left in the area,” ISPR said.

“The sacrifices of brave officers and soldiers further strengthens our resolve, as the security forces of Pakistan in step with the nation remain steadfast to eradicate Indian sponsored terrorism from the country,” it added.
