China supports Pakistan’s narrative on Afghanistan and regional stability

ISLAMABAD: Chinese political analyst Dr Victor Zhikai Gao has said China supports Pakistan’s narrative on Afghanistan and regional stability.

In an exclusive interview with Pakistan TV, Dr Gao emphasized that Afghanistan cannot serve as a safe haven for all kinds of terrorist groups. He highlighted that ensuring domestic stability and regional cooperation is essential for Afghanistan’s future.

He noted that Afghanistan has the potential to become a key trade hub for neighbouring countries and beyond, generating substantial profits and benefits for its people.

This can only be achieved if the country maintains internal stability and ceases to harbour terrorist groups, he added.

Dr Gao said engaging in regional cooperation and fostering development can help the Afghan people enjoy prosperity and create a safer, more stable region.

Speaking about India and its relations with regional countries, Dr Victor Zhikai Gao, who is vice president of Centre for China and Globalisation, Beijing, expressed concern over India’s multiple territorial disputes with nearly all of its neighbours.

“India has volatile relations not only with China and Pakistan but with all its neighbours,” he said, urging that the Indian government and people should exercise rationality, wisdom, and reason in resolving these disputes amicably, including with China.

“I would appeal on the Indian government and Indian people to use more rationality, and more reason and more wisdom in dealing with its neighbouring countries and come to amicable solutions of any or all territorial disputes with its multitude of neighbouring countries,” he said.

Reflecting on the May 7 war between Pakistan and India, Dr Gao described it as the largest arrow battle in human history over recent decades.

He emphasised that while India often disputes the outcome, the world recognised Pakistan as the clear winner.

He noted that even US President Donald Trump had reaffirmed this point, highlighting lessons for India regarding military preparedness and diplomatic conduct with neighbours.

Dr Gao praised the China-Pakistan cooperation during the conflict, noting that the Pakistani military effectively used jointly produced equipment and Chinese-applied weapons systems.

He called it a proven success story, demonstrating the strength of the bilateral partnership.

He concluded by expressing hope that this cooperation will deepen and expand, ensuring no foreign power dares to challenge Pakistan again.

“This is a joint success, a victory for Pakistan as well as for China,” he said, congratulating the Pakistani people and the Armed Forces.

Dr Gao said such solidarity will contribute to greater peace, stability, and prosperity across South Asia.
