ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chief Minister of the Indian state of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar, died Wednesday morning in a plane crash in Pune district’s Baramati, as his aircraft failed to land.
Pawar’s plane carried four other people besides him, Indian media reported on Wednesday.
Pawar was serving as the deputy chief minister of Maharashtraand was the chief of the Nationalist Congress Party faction that split from the party in 2023, while the other faction remained with his uncle and veteran politician Sharad Pawar.
Indian journalist Mohammed Zubair and other social media users shared video clips of the site of the crash.
