The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly is being held at the UN Headquarters in New York. This year, the General Debate theme is "Restoring trust, managing transformation: a United Nations that delivers for all."
Nearly 130 heads of state and government are expected to attend the General Debate, which will be held from Sept 22 to 26 and on Sept 28. Pakistan is represented by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

Iran's president to attend UN General Assembly
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will travel to New York this week to participate in the United Nations General Assembly, according to Tasnim News Agency.
The Iranian news outlet reported that Pezeshkian is expected to voice “Iran's stance on global tensions” and regional conflicts.
During the gathering, the Iranian president will address the session and meet with other world leaders. According to Tasnim, the Iranian president plans to outline and present his country's concerns over international policies that affect Iran.
A delegation of senior Iranian officials will accompany Pezeshkian for the week-long event.
Trump to meet Macron in New York on Monday: White House
US President Donald Trump will meet his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Monday in New York, where both leaders are taking part in the United Nations General Assembly, according to the White House.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:35 p.m. (2135 GMT), according to Trump's schedule published on Sunday evening.
Macron will travel to New York from Saint Pierre and Miquelon, a small French territory off Canada's Atlantic coast, where he met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
The French president also plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
Pakistan FM arrives in New York for 81st UNGA session
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in New York to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), the Foreign Office said on Monday.
The General Assembly’s high-level general debate begins on Tuesday, when US President Donald Trump is scheduled to address the 81st session. The debate will run from Sept 22-26 and resume on Sept 28.
Pakistan UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Consul General in New York Aamer Ahmed Atozai, and senior officials from the Pakistan Mission and the Consulate General received him at Kennedy International Airport.
Dar will go through a tight schedule of engagements at the United Nations.
He will participate in the meeting of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir, during which he will highlight Pakistan’s support for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris.
The deputy prime minister will also attend several OIC Ministerial meetings on the sidelines of the UNGA, including the OIC Foreign Ministers’ Annual Coordination Meeting, as well as other OIC Contact Group meetings.

He will attend several high-level meetings on Palestine, including the meeting of the Group of Eight Arab Islamic countries and the High-Level Ministerial Meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, among others.
Dar will deliver a statement during the UN Security Council high-level briefing on Artificial Intelligence, and will also attend the High-Level Meeting on Pandemic prevention, preparedness and response.
He will also chair the ECO Council of Ministers meeting.
The foreign minister will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from several countries, in addition to accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during high-level bilateral meetings and engagements.
During his engagements, Dar will highlight Pakistan’s ongoing efforts for regional and international peace and stability, and exchange views on important regional and international challenges.
