ISLAMABAD: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed grave concern over the recent hostilities between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

In his statement, Ibrahim called on both sides to exercise maximum restraint and cease all military operations.

He stressed that while Pakistan’s security concerns must be addressed, Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must also be respected, urging both nations to resolve the crisis through negotiations.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement following a conversation between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

The statement highlighted Pakistan’s response to what it termed unprovoked Afghan aggression, citing successful air operations under Operation Ghazb lil Haq to defend Pakistan's sovereignty.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to regional peace and agreed to remain closely engaged on the situation’s developments.
