ISLAMABAD: US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker met Pakistani government officials, business leaders, technology companies, and students during a two-day visit to Lahore focused on trade, investment, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies, according to the US Embassy in Pakistan.
The United States has been Pakistan’s largest export market and a leading source of investment for more than 20 years, according to the embassy.
Baker said Washington would continue working with Pakistan’s government, universities, innovators and private sector to expand economic ties under the Trump administration, the embassy said.
During the visit, Baker met Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Punjab adviser for artificial intelligence and special initiatives Ali Dar. Their discussions covered emerging technology, higher education and innovation.
At the opening of P.F Chang’s newest Lahore restaurant, Baker discussed commercial ties between the two countries. Bilateral trade exceeded $8 billion in 2025, according to the embassy.
She also visited technology firms NetSol Technologies, CodeNinja and Game District, where she discussed software development, digital services and artificial intelligence.
Baker met students at the National Institute of Technology and discussed its partnership with Arizona State University, the embassy said.
She later attended a Business Recorder roundtable as chief guest, where she discussed US leadership in artificial intelligence and partnerships aimed at promoting economic growth and job creation.
