Pakistan, EU strengthen ties, explore investment and development cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with European Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Síkela in Brussels to discuss deepening Pakistan-EU relations, an official statement said.

 

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two leaders emphasized the importance of enhancing mutually beneficial collaboration between Pakistan and the European Union across all shared areas of interest.

 

The statement noted that both sides agreed to explore ways to strengthen cooperation across multiple frameworks, including the EU Global Gateway Program and the expansion of the European Investment Bank's activities in Pakistan.

 

The meeting reaffirmed Pakistan's and the EU's shared commitment to deepen their partnership and collaborate on initiatives supporting sustainable development and economic prosperity.

 

Dar highlighted Pakistan’s interest in attracting EU investment and leveraging international partnerships to support the country’s growth agenda, while Commissioner Síkela stressed the EU’s commitment to long-term collaboration with Pakistan.
