ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday praised the professional capabilities of the security forces for killing five terrorists, including the ringleader, in Panjgur district, as the country continues its fight against terrorism.
The interior minister paid tribute to the security forces for a “successful” intelligence-based operation in Panjgur district under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, Naqvi said in a statement on Facebook.
Naqvi praised the bravery and determination of the security personnel who took part in the operation, describing them as a source of pride for the entire nation, according to APP.
He said the courageous sons of the soil were continuing their efforts to eliminate terrorism from Balochistan and were making significant sacrifices to protect the country and its people, it added.
Naqvi said the successful operation demonstrated the security forces’ preparedness, professionalism and unwavering commitment to combating terrorism, stressing that the elimination of terrorist elements was essential for restoring lasting peace and stability in Balochistan and across the country.
“Security forces have successfully thwarted the nefarious designs of the militants,” Naqvi said, adding that the nation stood firmly behind the brave personnel engaged in the fight against terrorism.
He said the sacrifices of security forces would always be remembered by the nation, adding that Pakistan’s struggle against terrorism was a collective national cause.
The interior minister reaffirmed that the entire nation was united against terrorism and stood shoulder to shoulder with the security forces.
He further added that the government and the people remained committed to supporting the security forces in their efforts to eradicate terrorist networks and ensure peace and security throughout the country.
The statement by the interior minister comes at a time when the country is intensifying its operations against terrorism across the country.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, on August 5 and 6, security forces conducted two high-tempo intelligence-driven operations in the Washuk and Mastung districts of Balochistan as part of an ongoing series of intelligence-based operations under "Rad-ul-Fitna-3," a relentless counterterrorism campaign aimed at, in what it called as, eliminating "Indian proxies," killing 12 terrorists of Fitna Al Hindustan.
On August 5, it added, the movement of six terrorists was picked up by the security forces in the Washuk district, the statement said.
In another intelligence-based operation on 6 August 2026, in the Mastung district, six terrorists were killed after intense fire exchange between armed forces and the terrorists.
Last month, the Balochistan Chief Executive Mir Sarfraz Bugti, addressing the passing-out parade of the 20th Basic Training Course of the Anti-Terrorism Force of Balochistan Police in Quetta, also stated that the police and other security forces, with the support of the nation, would eliminate the menace of terrorism.
