ISLAMABAD: Senior Advisor to US President Donald Trump for Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office media wing, PM Sharif conveyed warm regards to President Donald Trump and recalled past interactions with him. He expressed appreciation for Trump’s leadership, which he said contributed to a ceasefire between Pakistan and India last year when both countries were on the brink of war.
He also praised Trump’s role in the successful conclusion of a ceasefire in Lebanon.
The discussions also covered regional developments, including Pakistan’s peace efforts that led to the ceasefire and the historic Islamabad Talks.
Massad Boulos conveyed greetings from President Donald Trump to the Prime Minister and appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to regional stability. He said the United States was interested in deepening engagement with Pakistan on counter-terrorism, economic development, and global challenges.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi attended the meeting.
PM Sharif meets Turkish FM
Earlier, PM Sharif met Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan ahead of the Antalya Business Forum on Friday. According to Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar’s post on X (Twitter), the Turkish FM called on PM Sharif upon arrival in Antalya.
Dar said the two sides held “good conversations” ahead of engagements at the forum.
Meeting with Korean minister
Meanwhile, the foreign minister also met the Vice Minister for Strategy and Intelligence at South Korea’s Foreign Ministry, Jeong Yeondoo.
The two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and recent regional developments. The South Korean official appreciated Pakistan’s role in sustained diplomatic efforts for peace and stability in the region and beyond.
Pakistan-Singapore engagement
Pakistan held discussions with Singapore, with foreign minister meeting Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry Gan Siow Huang.
Both sides marked 60 years of Pakistan–Singapore diplomatic relations. They committed to strengthening cooperation across all sectors, including “multilateral fora.”
The two sides exchanged views on regional developments. Huang expressed support for Pakistan’s efforts to promote dialogue and diplomacy for the peaceful resolution of issues in the region.
Pakistan, Algeria discuss ceasefire efforts
Pakistan also held discussions with Algeria, with Dar meeting Algeria’s Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf.
The two sides discussed bilateral ties and exchanged views on regional and global developments.
The Algerian FM praised Pakistan’s role in achieving the initial ceasefire and its continued efforts to promote dialogue and diplomacy toward lasting peace and stability in the region, according to the statement.
