ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Shaheens clinched the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 title after edging Bangladesh 'A' in a tense Super Over at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Bangladesh batted first in the Super Over, but Shaheen’s Ahmed Daniyal struck early, taking a first-ball wicket and conceding only six runs, despite a boundary from a wide.

Chasing seven in the Super Over, Shaheen’s gained momentum with early singles, then Saad Masood smashed a boundary and nudged the final run, clinching the title

Earlier, Pakistan managed 125 runs for 9 wickets. They stumbled early, losing Yasir Khan and Mohammad Faiq cheaply, falling to 2-2. Ghazi Ghori and Maaz Sadaqat added 23 runs, but wickets kept tumbling, and the brief resistance from Arafat Minhas and Irfan Niazi was quickly broken.

Bangladesh fell just short chasing 126, finishing 125-9 in 20 overs. Openers Habibur Rahman (26 off 13) and Jishan Alam gave a strong start, but quick strikes from Arafat Minhas and Saad Masood put Pakistan in control.

Later, Bangladesh tail-enders Saqlain and Ripon Mondol staged a late fightback, hitting three sixes off Shahid Aziz and taking the chase into the final over.

The defending champions dominated with the ball. Sufiyan Muqeem, the tournament’s standout bowler, was unplayable at times, finishing with 3-11 from four overs, while Ahmed Daniyal and Arafat Minhas claimed 2 wickets each, putting Bangladesh on the back foot.

The Shaheens held their nerve when it mattered most, clinching the trophy for the third time after a thrilling finish.
