Pakistan, US discuss trade expansion in Washington

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met the United States Trade Representative on the sidelines of the World Bank-IMF Spring Meetings 2026 to discuss trade and investment cooperation.


In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Ministry of Finance said on Tuesday that the minister met US Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer.



Aurangzeb said Pakistan is committed to strengthening economic relations with the United States through expanded trade and investment flows. He called for improved market access and a stronger business environment to support long-term economic ties.


The two officials held talks on advancing bilateral trade and investment. They discussed expanding market access for exports, increasing investment flows and deepening commercial linkages.


They said they were satisfied with progress in ongoing trade negotiations and noted continued momentum in economic engagement. They said they will continue discussions on trade and investment.
