ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s rising squash star Noor Zaman clinched the NASH Cup 2025 title in Canada, defeating Egypt’s Moustafa Elsirty in the final.
The 21-year-old from Peshawar — grandson of squash legend Qamar Zaman — overpowered the tournament’s second seed in straight games, 19-17, 11-7, 11-9, after a tense 52-minute battle.
Seeded fifth, Noor impressed throughout the $30,000 Copper-level event, highlighted by a semifinal win over Colombia’s Matias Knudsen.
The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) hailed his triumph as a “remarkable achievement.” Fellow Pakistani Muhammad Ashab Irfan also made the semifinals after defeating India’s Veer Chotrani.
Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), Muhammad Yasir Pirzada, congratulated Noor, calling the victory a proud moment for the nation.
