ISLAMABAD: Coke Studio Pakistan’s global hit 'Pasoori' has crossed one billion views on YouTube, becoming the first Pakistan-made music video to achieve the milestone.
Performed by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, 'Pasoori' was released in February 2022 as part of Coke Studio Pakistan and went on to become a global phenomenon, transcending linguistic and geographical boundaries.
Celebrating the achievement, Coke Studio Pakistan said the song had grown from a musical release into a global moment, thanking millions of listeners worldwide for making the milestone possible.
“What started as a song became a global moment, carried by millions of you around the world,” Coke Studio said in a social media post.
The achievement further cements Pasoori's position as Pakistan's most-viewed music video on YouTube. It is followed by Kaifi Khalil's Kahani Suno 2.0, while Coke Studio's Afreen Afreen featuring Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Momina Mustehsan remains among Pakistan's biggest musical successes on the platform.
Other recent Pakistani hits to record hundreds of millions of views include Afusic's Pal Pal and Coke Studio's Jhol by Maanu and Annural Khalid.
