Israeli military says missiles launched from Iran towards Israel

Israel's military said that it detected missiles heading towards the country from Iran and had activated air defences, as it pressed a "wave" of strikes against Iran and Lebanon.
"A short while ago, the IDF identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel. Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat," the military said on its official Telegram account.
AFP journalists heard air raid sirens sounding in Jerusalem and the sound of explosions in the distance.
Kuwait says defence systems neutralised ‘wave of hostile aerial’ threats

The Kuwaiti armed forces have announced that air defence systems successfully intercepted a barrage of hostile drones that breached the country’s airspace, Al Jazeera reports
Military officials reported that five drones were detected and four were intercepted and destroyed. The fifth crashed outside the designated threat zone.
Colonel Saud Abdulaziz al-Otaibi, in a statement, said the military is on high alert and will “ensure the preservation of [the country’s] sovereignty, security, stability, and protect its national interests.”

Southern Iran airport damaged in US, Israeli strikes: media

US and Israeli strikes have hit an airport in southern Iran, damaging part of the site as well as aircraft, local media reported on Tuesday.
"Following an American-Zionist attack on Kerman Airport, part of it was damaged and two old, out-of-service aircraft were hit," Iran's Tasnim news agency said, quoting a statement from the governor's office in the southern province of Kerman.
It is not clear whether there are any military facilities at or near the site.
On Monday the Israeli military said it had completed a "wave of strikes against six military airfields" in Iran, hitting planes and runways as well as defence and detection systems.
Iranian media reported on Friday that US and Israeli attacks had also hit Mehrabad airport in Tehran, with one outlet saying a fighter jet hangar was struck.

Speaking to Fox News, Trump said early outcomes from the military campaign dubbed Operation Epic Fury had exceeded expectations.
Trump was referring to the appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei as Iran’s new supreme leader following the death of his father, Ali Khamenei.
“I’m not happy with that choice,” Trump said, adding that he doubted Mojtaba Khamenei would “be able to live in peace.”

"The IDF has begun a wave of strikes against Iranian terror regime targets in Tehran," the military said in a brief statement.
The army said that it hit a string of targets overnight in the capital including an underground complex used by Iran's Revolutionary Guards for missile testing located at a "military university".

Bahrain's sprawling Al Ma'ameer oil facility was hit, causing a fire and damage, with the country's state-owned energy firm Bapco declaring force majeure – the latest Gulf producer to activate the legal clause.
Energy producers in Qatar and Kuwait earlier made similar declarations, which are a warning that events beyond their control may lead them to miss export targets.

AFP journalists reported a powerful explosion in the Iranian capital just after midnight local time on Tuesday at the same time as aircraft were heard overhead.
Several journalists dispersed across the city reported the blast, which was felt from many kilometres away.
They also reported several explosions in the east of the city shortly afterwards.
It was not immediately clear what had been hit.
Not long after the blasts, the Israeli military announced that "for the second time today" it had launched a "broad wave of strikes" on Tehran.
