ISLAMABAD: Apple on Tuesday unveiled the iPhone 17 series, including the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, along with the all-new iPhone Air, the slimmest iPhone ever, at its annual launch event held at the Steve Jobs Theater.

Touted as the star of the show, the iPhone Air features a strikingly thin 5.6 mm profile, a titanium frame, and a redesigned "Liquid Glass" display.

“The all-new iPhone Air is so powerful, yet impossibly thin and light, that you really have to hold it to believe it’s real,” said John Ternus, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering. “This huge leap in design and engineering is only made possible through Apple innovation, especially Apple silicon.”

Major camera updates

The iPhone 17 Pro models cater to content creators with major camera upgrades, including enhanced sensors and advanced zoom capabilities. All new iPhones are powered by a faster chip and improved thermal cooling, ensuring top-tier performance across the board.

Each model will ship with iOS 26, which introduces bold new aesthetics and smarter, AI-driven features across Apple’s ecosystem.

Pricing starts at $799 for the iPhone 17, while the iPhone Air begins at $999. Pre-orders open this week, with global availability rolling out later this month.

In addition to the new iPhones, Apple also launched: Apple Watch Series 11 and AirPods Pro 3, featuring live translation support.

Apple says the 2025 lineup reflects its ongoing commitment to innovation, cutting-edge design, and user-centric experiences.
