ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cybersecurity cooperation, according to a statement from the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication in Islamabad on Wednesday.
“The agreement is signed by Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Saudi Arabia’s National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) Governor Engineer Majed Al-Mazyed,” the statement said.
The MoU aims to enhance both countries' efforts to protect cyberspace and safeguard their vital interests amid evolving cyber threats.
Under the agreement, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will facilitate the exchange of cybersecurity expertise and knowledge to strengthen their capacity to respond to emerging threats.
“The cooperation is also expected to promote closer coordination between the two countries in addressing cybersecurity challenges and developing effective responses to the rapidly changing digital threat landscape,” the statement added.
The agreement further provides a framework for expanding bilateral and global cybersecurity cooperation, reflecting the growing importance of digital security in protecting national infrastructure and interests.
The MoU marks another step towards strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the technology and digital security sectors.
