ISLAMABAD: Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has directed troops to remain vigilant and maintain the highest standards of operational preparedness, the military’s media affairs wing said on Tuesday.
Addressing the troops during his visit to the Corps Headquarters Peshawar, the army chief emphasized that the armed forces, with the unwavering support of the nation, remain resolute in their determination to defeat terrorism and ensure lasting peace and stability across the country, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The CDF commended the high morale, readiness and professionalism of officers and troops, acknowledging their steadfast commitment to safeguarding the country and its people.
The army chief also visited Yadgar-e-Shuhada, where he recited Fatea, laid a floral wreath, and paid rich tribute to those who laid down their lives in defense of the motherland and in the fight against terrorism. He reaffirmed that their supreme sacrifices would never be forgotten.
During his visit, the CDF was briefed on the prevailing security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ongoing counter-terrorism operations, border management measures and operational preparedness of formations deployed in the province.
Upon arrival, he was received by the Commander Peshawar Corps.
