ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has categorically rejected allegations linking it to any criminal or terrorist gang operating inside India, with a senior Pakistani official describing the claims as “unverified and baseless”.
Speaking exclusively to Pakistan TV on condition of anonymity, the senior official said Pakistan has no linkage whatsoever with any criminal or terrorist gang operating inside India, terming the allegations another Indian attempt to distract public attention from real internal issues and external setbacks.
The response came after Indian media outlet The Print published a report that Bengaluru Police had arrested a security guard over alleged links with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and claimed that he was planning to attack the Pakistan Army.
The senior official said it was typical of Indian media to recycle official narratives, regardless of facts on the ground, and present unverified claims as established truth.
The official said the burden of proof lies entirely with the Indian authorities making the assertions, adding that questions concerning alleged arrests or recoveries inside India should be addressed to them.
The official said Pakistan would not lend credibility to an unverified Indian media story by commenting on its particulars.
