ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed five terrorists belonging to Fitna al Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan's Panjgur district, as Pakistan continues its counterterrorism campaign under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on August 10 as part of an ongoing campaign against Indian-sponsored terrorist proxies.
Security forces also recovered and destroyed a cache of weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), followed by sanitization operations to eliminate any remaining threats in the area.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for the operation, saying they were achieving “brilliant successes” against terrorism under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam.
He reiterated government's determination to completely eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also commended the security forces for killing five terrorists in Panjgur, praising their “professional capabilities and courage.”
He said the forces had thwarted the “nefarious designs” of Fitna al Hindustan through timely action, adding that their successful operations against elements seeking to undermine peace in Balochistan were commendable.
The ISPR said the latest operation was part of the broader counterterrorism campaign being conducted by security forces and law enforcement agencies across the country.
“The relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision ‘Azm e Istehkam’ ... will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” it said.
The operation comes as Pakistan continues to pursue intelligence-driven actions against terrorist networks, with authorities maintaining that sustained operations are necessary to protect civilians, strengthen security and restore lasting peace in areas affected by terrorism.
