ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards, in coordination with the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre, foiled an attempt to smuggle a large cache of contraband items in the Pishukan area of Balochistan, the military’s media affairs wing said on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the joint operation was conducted based on actionable intelligence, leading to the seizure of a sizeable quantity of liquor and illegal medicines.
The seized contraband has been handed over to Pakistan Coast Guards for further legal proceedings.
The ISPR said the successful operation highlighted the effectiveness of inter-agency coordination in countering smuggling and reaffirmed the resolve of the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards to prevent the use of Pakistani waters and land for illicit activities.
