ISLAMABAD: Three security personnel embraced martyrdom as a terrorist attack on Rangers facility in the port city of Karachi was foiled.
“On 27 June 2026, a cowardly terrorist attack was carried out on a Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Camp in Karachi by Khwarij (terrorists) belonging to Indian proxy, Jamaat ul Ahrar,” said a statement issued by Pakistan military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Sunday.
"The assailants, after a blast at main gate of the Camp, attempted to breach the perimeter security, however, their nefarious designs were decisively foiled by the vigilant and resolute response of Rangers troops eliminating three terrorists and capturing one, who is an Afghan national, in injured condition," the statement added.
The ISPR statement said, “During fire exchange, three brave sons of soil, rendered the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat in the line of duty, while 4x soldiers are injured.”
Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorist in the area as relentless counter terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, the ISPR added.
“Pakistan shall undertake retribution operations against the perpetrators of this attack to avenge the Shahadat of its soldiers,” the military’s media wing said.
Pakistan's Chief of Defense Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, expressed his deepest condolences with the families of the brave soldiers.
“These sacrifices further reinforce our unwavering commitment to safeguarding our nation at all costs.”
President condemns terrorist attack
Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemns the terrorist attack by the Indian proxy group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar on the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) camp in Karachi, said a post shared on President of Pakistan’s X account on Sunday.
“The president pays tribute to the three brave Pakistan Rangers personnel who embraced martyrdom in the attack, and prays for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs,” it said.
President Zardari said, “The nation will never forget the sacrifices of its brave soldiers in the war against terrorism.”
“The nefarious designs of terrorist elements active under foreign patronage will never succeed,” he said.
The president said, “The Pakistani nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its security forces and law enforcement agencies against terrorism.”
“The sacrifices of the martyrs further strengthen the national resolve for the complete elimination of terrorism,” Zardari said.
The president extended heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs, and prays for the early recovery of the injured personnel.
