ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s military eliminated fifteen terrorists linked to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij and Fitna al Hindustan, on Thursday in the southwest province of Balochistan, according to a statement from the military’s media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the statement, “intelligence-based operations (IBO) were conducted in Harnai and Basima Districts” following reports of the presence of “Khwarij ex Fitna al Khwarij.”
During the operation in Harnai, the military “effectively engaged the Khwarij Hideout” and after an intense engagement, “twelve Indian sponsored Khwarij” were eliminated, ISPR said.
ISPR added that “weapons, ammunition, and explosives” were also recovered from the terrorists.
President Asif Ali Zardari also paid tribute to the security forces for the operation in Balochistan. In a statement from his office, Zardari said eliminating foreign-backed terrorism is the “top priority” of the country. He also praised the “professional capability and resolve of the security forces.”
“In the unwavering resolve for the protection of the motherland, the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the security forces,” he said in his statement.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the security forces for the operation in Balochistan against the Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan. In a statement from the prime minister’s office, Sharif said the military was achieving “great successes against terrorism.”
“In this war against terrorism, the entire nation stands with the Pakistan Armed Forces; we are committed to the complete elimination of terrorism from the country,” Sharif said in the statement.
